# Museo dell'Emigrante di Roasio

> Cultural museum in Roasio (Vercelli, Piedmont, Italy) preserving five generations of memories from Roasiani who emigrated around the world. Trilingual site (Italian, English, French).

The museum — known as "il Paese con la Valigia" (the Village with the Suitcase) — gathers 1,300+ biographical files, 350+ photographs, and 300+ artifacts that tell the story of emigration from Roasio to the Americas, Australia, Africa and beyond. Founded in 2001 by Velia Micheletti and a small group of volunteers, the museum is run by a not-for-profit cultural association.
